Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Doodle History publishing application (the “Application”) and this website handle information. The Application is operated by Doodle History (“we”, “us”), the creator of the Doodle History channel. It is a private, first-party tool used solely to publish our own videos to our own connected social media accounts.
1. Who this applies to
The Application has a single user: the operator of Doodle History. It is not offered to the public and does not create accounts for, or gather information about, anyone else. Viewers of our videos interact with the social platforms directly, under those platforms' own privacy policies — not with us.
2. Information the Application accesses
When we connect one of our own social accounts, the relevant platform issues the Application an authorization token via OAuth. The Application requests only the permissions needed to publish, and accesses only the following:
| Platform | Permissions / scopes | What it accesses & why |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | user.info.basicvideo.publishvideo.upload | The connected account's basic profile (to confirm the correct account and show the creator name before posting) and the ability to upload and publish our own videos to that account. |
| Instagram / Facebook (Meta) | instagram_basicinstagram_content_publishpages_show_listpages_read_engagementpages_manage_posts | The list of Pages we manage and the linked Instagram professional account, and the ability to publish our own Reels/posts to them. |
| YouTube | youtube.uploadyt-analytics.readonly | Uploading our own videos to our own channel, and reading our own channel's analytics to improve the content. |
The Application does not request access to followers' data, direct messages, comments of other users, or any personal information belonging to third parties.
3. How we use the information
Account information and tokens are used for one purpose only: to publish our own videos and (for YouTube) to read our own performance metrics. We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making about individuals.
4. Storage & security
OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored locally on the operator's own computer, in access-restricted files, and are used only to call the official platform APIs over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Tokens are never transmitted to any third party and are not embedded in this website.
5. Information we do NOT collect
- No personal data from viewers or visitors to this website.
- No analytics, cookies, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting on this website.
- No purchase, sale, rental, or sharing of personal data — ever.
6. Data retention & revoking access
We retain account tokens only while the connection is active. You — or we, as the account owner — can revoke the Application's access at any time from the platform's own settings (TikTok: Settings → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions; Meta: Settings → Business integrations; Google: myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party access). Once access is revoked or the stored token is deleted, the Application can no longer access the account.
7. Third-party platforms
Publishing happens on third-party platforms, each governed by its own privacy policy: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Google/YouTube. We encourage you to review them.
8. Children's privacy
The Application is a private operator tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the project or platform requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
